VISIONÄRE AND THE EAST END FILM FESTIVAL PRESENT
A 3-DAY UNDERGROUND CINEMA EXPERIENCE
Pop-up cinema outfit Visionäre curate a three day underground cinema experience as part of the East End Festival 2011, between April 28th-30th.
Highlights include first time UK screenings of 5 music-related documentaries, some live music performances, club nights, video art and exhibitions, all designed to create an unforgettable experience for film fans and music aficionados alike.
This year, we take a voyeuristic view through New York’s Lower East Side of the late 70s/early 80s, moving onto a visual journey through to London and Jamaican sound system culture through to a trans-national Hip-Hop road movie – not forgetting the documentary about Notting Hill Carnival’s figure head Norman Jay, followed by music showcases from London’s contemporary music scene, which sums up Visionare’s mission:
‘To create an environment and experience for celebrating the message of music through their individual stories and for the love of it’.
